My sister in law may have to have open heart surgery. She has been feeling tired alot and putting on weight. After a visit to the doctor's she was told that she had Aortic Valve Stenosis, which was about 1 cm wide. This is size is not enough to push alot od blood through it to get to the rest of the body. She went and saw a Cardiologist who ordered an Echo and an Angiogram. The Echo confirmed the diagnosis but after the angiogram, the doctors were please with what they saw. She may not have to have surgery yet but be treated medically. My wife was upset about this which is right thing.
Meanwhile, over the Atlantic, one of my younger brothers who visited us in March-June 2007, ma have to have heart surgery too. The day he left to go back to England, he collapsed in Dallas/Fort Worth airport. At the hospital, he was told that his heart rate was in the 200's wich is damn fast for an adult. The doctors gave him some medicine to get his heart rate down, it took two doses to bring his heart rate back to normal. Back home in England, he has had test after test to ran and been told he may have to have surgery. If he does, I do not know if I will go home to visit while he is in hospital or not. I will probably not go and keep in touch with the family by phone.
When it rains in ones family it pours down. How funny that at the same time, these two people are going through the same thin at the same time.
To both of them, I hope that they don't need to have surgery!!!!!!!!
